Two thousand dairy farmers expected in Brussels on Monday

Dairy farmers have organised another strike in Brussels on Monday, starting at 11 am and expected to end at 3pm. This time, however, they will not bring their tractors.

At around 11am the farmers will march on Boulevard Pachéco, parallel to the Rue Royale in central Brussels. They plan to travel up to the Schuman roundabout, where they are expected at 1pm.

Farmers will march on foot this time, having blocked the Brussels roads with hundreds of tractors on their last demonstration. Only one tractor is expected on this occasion.

The purpose of the strike is to plead for increased regulation of milk quotas outside a meeting of European agriculture ministers in Parliament on Monday.
