BRUSSELS — Antwerp Court has granted the release of two of the adult suspects in the recent death of a man during a fight on a city bus.
A 54-year-old man collapsed and died on the Line 23 bus on 24 June after being involved in a violent confrontation.
Police later arrested six suspects, three minors and three adults, and conducted a reconstruction of the incident last Saturday.
Witness testimonies appeared to corroborate the statements of the adult suspects during the reconstruction.
One of them had confessed to kicking the victim. Antwerp Court remanded him in custody on Tuesday.
The two other adult suspects denied they were involved in the fight and the court agreed on Monday, ordering their release.
However, strong conditions were imposed on their release. The public prosecution office will not appeal against their release.
The three under-age suspects are still being held on remand.
