Two drivers run into police check

12 October 2007 , BRUSSELS – During an alcohol check of the local police in the Buggenhout/Lebbeke region on Thursday, two car-drivers ran into the police. This was reported on Friday morning by the Dendermonde public prosecutor’s office. Firstly a 67-year-old man came swerving into the checkpoint. The man had had too much to drink, said the prosecutor’s office. Nobody was injured.

This was reported on Friday morning by the Dendermonde public prosecutor’s office. Firstly a 67-year-old man came swerving into the checkpoint. The man had had too much to drink, said the prosecutor’s office. Nobody was injured.

Shortly after that a 44-year-old man from Lebbeke tried to evade the alcohol check by driving off between the waiting police. They were forced to jump out of danger.

The local police pursued the car and arrested the driver.
