Toll from Belgian carnage climbs to five
The toll from a murderous spree by a lone gunman in the Belgian city of Liege on Thursday climbed to five dead and 125 wounded after a woman succumbed to her injuries overnight, officials said.
The Liege hospital, quoted by Belga news agency, said a 75-year-old woman died in the early hours after suffering gunshot wounds in the Tuesday attack by ex convict Nordine Amrani.
Armed with grenades and an automatic assault rifle, the 33-year-old killed two teenaged boys and a 17-month-old baby on a square crowded with school-children and lunch-hour Christmas shoppers before killing himself with a shot to the head.
Police also found the body of a cleaning-woman in her 40s whom he had killed earlier near his home.
