BRUSSELS — A hostage drama in a GB mini-supermarket in the Brussels suburb of Anderlecht ended without bloodshed on Tuesday morning.

GB crisis manager Gilbert Geudens said two armed men took two suppliers and two employees hostage shortly before 8am on Tuesday.

"They wanted money out of the safe, but that can't be opened by the personnel," he said.

Police quickly arrested one suspect and sealed off the vicinity as the second culprit held several hostages inside the shop.

The man eventually let the hostages free at about 10am and was arrested by police.

No one was injured in the kidnapping.
