Strike at Ikea in Genk called off

17 October 2007 , BRUSSELS – The lightning strike which broke out on Monday among 160 Ikea workers at the distribution centre in Genk has ended. On Wednesday a clear majority of the workers gave their approval to the management’s second proposal of a salary rise. 65 workers voted in favour, 37 against. On Monday the workers rejected the first proposal as being insufficient.
