A few hundred people marched from Leuven to Brussels on Sunday. They are protesting against the war in Iraq. Protest marches also take place in the UK.

Next week it will be five years ago exactly that the war in Iraq started with the United States and Britain landing in the country. The protesters are demanding the immediate withdrawal of foreign troops from Iraq.

Also marking the fifth anniversary of the start of the war in Iraq, in London (England) and Glasgow (Scotland) thousands of anti-war protesters took to the streets at the weekend, demanding that British troops pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan.

A spokesman for the ‘Stop The War coalition’, which organised the marches in the UK, said that five years after the invasion of Iraq, the world had become "a much more dangerous place."
