BRUSSELS — The Brussels public prosecution has confirmed that a knife was found near the scene of Joe van Holsbeeck's killing, but the culprits are still at large.

The public prosecutor said a homeless man found the bloodied knife near Brussels Central in a bin on the night after the 12 April murder.

However, it is not yet certain whether that knife was the murder weapon and DNA tests are being carried out.

No other new facts came to light over the weekend and there is still no trace of the two suspects.

"The investigation is being intensively carried out," a prosecution spokesman said.

But the new video footage released by authorities on Friday has not yet yielded results.

Police are urging the media to play the footage in the hope the public will identify the two suspects.
