BRUSSELS — February will end with snowfalls on Tuesday in what could lead to problems on Belgian roads.
Cloud cover is expected to build up on Monday night, followed by light snowfalls. In the west of the country, light snowfalls with rain are being forecast.
The intensity of the snowfalls is then forecast to intensify after midnight for much of the country, newspaper 'Het Laatste Nieuws' reported on Monday.
The snowfalls could lead to slippery roads, especially inland on Tuesday.
Forecast minimum temperatures overnight are minus three degrees Celsius in the Ardennes, zero for the interior regions and three degrees on the coast.
Tuesday's weather is expected to be unstable with hail for inland regions, wet snow or rain along the coast and in the west of the country. Strong winds are also forecast.
Tuesday's maximum temperatures are expected to reach zero degrees in high-altitude regions and four degrees elsewhere.
The long-term forecast is for unstable, cold weather with rain until Saturday.
Temperatures of four degrees are expected and zero degrees in the Ardennes.
