BRUSSELS – Low-cost airline Ryanair will be listing its prices on its website inclusive of taxes from now on.
In the past customers looking to book online were shown prices "plus tax." "But we are following the example that we now maintain throughout the Benelux and Scandinavia, namely to show the complete net price, including tax," said spokesperson David Gering.
He says the airline is not required to do this. "But it creates transparency. We are therefore one of the parties asking that this be made mandatory," Gering said.
But the discussion on the European level has become complicated already as airlines wonder what components should be required to be included in this net price: just the ticket and taxes or also possible insurance fees and meal prices?
