Reception for new nobility at palace
Thirty people attend a reception at the royal palace to receive their new title including singer Axelle Red and former Anderlecht manager Michel Verschueren
21 December 2007 - At the palace in Laken, a reception was held for the people who received a noble or honorary title during the past year. Some thirty people came personally to accept their title from King Albert II.
Among the people present at the palace in Laken were heart surgeon Hugo Van Ermen, business leader Jean Vandemoortele.
Serge Brammertz, the new public prosecutor of the Yugoslavia Tribunal in The Hague received the honour of Grand Officer.
Artist Luc Tuymans, singer Axelle Red, and former Anderlecht manager Michel Verschueren also received nobility titles.
True to tradition, the King and Queen treat the guests to a Christmas concert. The concert and reception are attended by the entire royal family.
