On Tuesday, a group of inmates escaped in Brussels with the help of armed accomplices directly under the nose of the authorities, in the third such incident in less than a month, media reported.

The incident took place in the Palais de Justice, the law courts in the centre of the capital. Two masked gunmen helped three men in custody to flee their five police guards, according to early reports.
Only two weeks ago, three dangerous convicts conducted a spectacular escape from a prison in Bruges in a helicopter hijacked by their accomplices.
A few days later two prisoners in the northern city of Merkplas broke free from jail simply by jumping over the wall with a ladder borrowed from a building site inside the prison.
Only one of the five fugitives in the previous escapes has been recaptured.
Interpol, the International police organisation, has issued an "Orange Notice" to its 187 member states in a bid to recapture the fugitives from the helicopter escape.
