Prince Laurent flies home from holiday to reach hospital
The Royal Palace has confirmed that Prince Laurent has been admitted to the Saint-Luc Hospital in Brussels with pneumonia. The prince was in Sardinia on holiday with his family when he fell ill.
According to the Royal Palace spokesman Prince Laurent, the youngest son of King Albert and Queen Paola, returned to Belgium because he wanted to be treated in Brussels instead of abroad.
The youngest son of King Albert is receiving medication, including homeopathic remedies. He is suffering from mild pneumonia.
The prince contracted the virus from his daughter Louise. The 5 year old girl is now in good health.
"The illness was caught on time and is being treated," said a palace spokesperson. However, there is no indication of when the prince will be able to leave hospital.
