BRUSSELS – Police are seeking the ex-partner of the woman shot dead this morning in Ganshoren. He is reportedly once of the possible suspects in the shooting, the local police report. Further investigation is in the hands of the Brussels Federal Police.

The victim of the shooting was a 37-year-old woman, mother to a 13-year-old daughter. She was shot Monday morning at about 7 am when she left her apartment building on the Keizer Karellaan. Police found her in the entrance hallway of the building and have ascertained that she was shot at close range. Neighbourhood residents say that three shots were fired and the gunman fled in the direction of the city centre.

The woman's ex-boyfriend is now being named as a suspect. He reportedly had been harassing the victim for some time and had set fire to her car a number of times. The man has not yet been found.
