Piano competition reaches final stage
The prestigious Queen Elisabeth piano competition reached its critical stage on Saturday with the selection of the 12 finalists.
Whilst the Eurovision song contest was entertaining Europe with popular songs, a prestigious jury in Brussels was finalising the list of 12 candidates who go through to the final of the 2013 edition of the world famous Queen Elisabath piano competition.
The 12 laureates will perform at the Brussels Centre for Fine Arts from 27 May until 1st of June, with the National Orchestra of Belgium under the baton of Marin Alsop.
In alphabetical order they are : Mateusz Borowiak, Tatiana Chernichka, David Fung, Rémi Geniet, Boris Giltburg,Roope Gröndahl, Sean Kennard,Stanislav Khristenko, Sangyoung Kim, Yuntian Liu, Andrew Tyson, Zhang Zuo. The two Belgian entries were eliminated at the semi-final stage.
The performances of the finalists will be broadcast live on Belgian radio.
The final will be broadcast live on 1 June on Belgian TV.
