Paris suspect Abdeslam, two others arrested: Belgian PM
Police arrested three people including key Paris attacks suspect Salah Abdeslam in a raid in Brussels on Friday, Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel said.
"We have just arrested Salah Abdeslam. Three suspects were arrested," Michel told a press conference alongside French President Francois Hollande.
"These successes are extremely important in the battle for democracy against this abominable form of extremism," Michel said.
Hollande said Abdeslam had been arrested "with two accomplices and had been formally identified," adding that he expected his extradition "as quickly as possible".
Abdeslam had "taken part in one form or another" in the November 13 attacks in the French capital in which 130 people were killed, he added.
Hollande also said he would call a meeting of France's security council on Saturday following the arrests.
