BRUSSELS – The tourist office in Ostend is going all out this spring with 21 different events that it will hope will draw visitors to the seaside city every weekend.

“The Ostend tourism office is investing EUR 300,000 in programmes for this spring. We have been working with a number of private organisers,” says alderwoman for tourism Hilde Veulemans (CD&V).

On the opening weekend of 31 March to 1 April, 13 museums will feature free or discounted entry as part of “Discover Ostend.”

Ostend will host the Davis Cup just a few days later – 6 to 8 April, the international sailing competition “Race of The Classics” – 17 to 18 April, and the “Kites International” festival – 12 -13 May.

Ostend is also planning a short film competition and a maritime event from 25 to 28 May.
