Mob firebombs Brussels police
Scores of youths hurled firebombs and other missiles at police in Brussels, injuring nine officers and damaging 10 squad cars, Belgian prosecutors said on Friday.
The unrest broke out in the Molenbeek-Saint-Jean area when a minor was detained by police on Thursday evening.
Around 60 people, including family members, lobbed objects at police, with a subsequent wave of attacks at another site which saw one officer hit in the back with a firebomb.
Prosecutors said three youths, including one minor, face prosecution.
There has been a surge of incidents involving gangs, in one case armed with a stolen Kalashnikov rifle.
