BRUSSELS — A heart-wrenching disappearance of a girl in Wallonia ended with her safe return on Friday.
The two-and-a-half year-old girl went missing at the Le Paradisio campsite in Gendron on Thursday night.
The distraught parents of the toddler reported her missing to authorities at about 6.30pm.
She had been playing at the campsite when her parents lost sight of her.
A search of the area initially found no trace of the girl, but she was later found alive and well on Friday morning.
She had fallen asleep along the banks of the Lesse River about a 1km away from the campsite.
The toddler was taken to the nearby Dinant Hospital for precautionary tests.
