Missing West Flemish teenager safe and sound
Kiany Van De Walle, the 16-year-old girl from Ichtegem (West Flanders) that had gone missing last Friday, has been found in the Netherlands.
She is safe and sound.
It is still unclear why she travelled to the Netherlands without leaving a trace.
Her disappearance gave rise to serious concerns and various search teams had been deployed.
Van De Walle left her home in Ichtegem on Friday morning to go to school, but never arrived there.
She didn't return home either and a missing person alert was issued.
A major search operation took place last weekend, without any result.
The search looked set to end in a deadlock, but CCTV footage accelerated the investigation yesterday.
It turned out Kiany was seen on security footage taken in the Brussels North station.
It is still unclear why she travelled to the Netherlands and what her motives were.
