The recognition of Kosovo will become official after the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Karel De Gucht, sends a letter to Pristina with Belgium's decision to recognise the new country.
Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia on February 17. An estimated 25,000 Kosovars live in Belgium
