BRUSSELS - Club Brugge is on top of the Belgian First Division. Results of matches on Sunday night failed to change the top 3.
A draw for Genk did not allow the club to enhance its position in the league, while at the bottom KV Mechelen has jumped over Dender. Ivens KV Mechelen won its first match of the season on Sunday and its first match since it joined the First Division at the beginning of the season.
KV's 4 - 0 win against FC Brussels took Mechelen to 15th place in the league.
KV's win leaves Dender - this year's second newcomer - in bottom position.
It has not been FC Brussels's week after racist pronouncements by the club's chairman.
Mechelen's Ivens was first to score soon followed by Geudens.
Nong sealed Brussels's fate making two further goals in the second half.
Lokeren 1 Genk 1
Lokeren got off to an excellent start with Carevic scoring in the opening stages of the match.
Genk's Barda and Dahmane both posed a threat, but failed to score initially.
Lokeren seemed well course for a win but allowed Genk to equalise in the final stages of the match.
The goal came from Barda with a little help from Lolo.
Genk is now 7 points adrift of leaders Club Brugge and is in seventh place in the first division.
Lokeren has a point less and is in eighth position.
