BRUSSELS – Job agency Mailprofs has admitted that an employee made a serious mistake in the racism incident surrounding the Deutsche Bank.
Last week an internal e-mail from Mailprofs was leaked. It said that the Deutsche Bank did not want candidates with an "exotic appearance" for a number of vacancies.
The employee working for Mailprofs had reportedly drawn up the e-mail following a conversation with an employee of the Deutsche Bank.
"The employee should have known that this is inappropriate," said spokesperson Theo Das of Mailprofs.
The job agency has apologised to the ethnic minorities and said it will take structural measures to avoid these kinds of incidents in the future. The agency will hire an external expert.
Deutsche Bank has always denied that it discriminates against ethnic minorities.
