BRUSSELS – The baby found in a cardboard box in the Essen train station a year ago will most likely be placed with an adoptive family soon. The state guardian of the boy said this on Wednesday.

The little boy was found last year at the end of November and was given the name Jasper Van Essen. He has been living at the Good Engels children’s home run by the OCMW social services in Antwerp ever since.

The parents of the boy have never been found.

"He is very healthy and is growing fast," says guardian Josée Elst. "We are now working with a family that wants to adopt him. The adoption should soon be completed."
