Illegal ‘prize’ knives seized at fair in Brussels
Brussels police have conficated about a dozen knives which stall-owners were offering as prizes at the Foire du Midi in the capital. The three vendors have been given a verbal warning.
A Brussels FM listener called in a couple of days ago to say that he had won a switchblade knife at the fair, a gadget which is illegal for underage buyers. The radio station then contacted the local police to ask if this type of knife was allowed to be won as a prize.
Investigations were carried out on Wednesday and about a dozen knives were seized from the many prize stalls in the fair. It is not known if there are any other vendors giving away these illegal prizes.
