BRUSSELS – The association for the homeless 'Bij Ons' has rented a room in the Hilton hotel for one of its homeless. This was a reaction to Minister Pascal Smet (SP.A) who claimed it was cheaper to accommodate the homeless in an expensive hotel than to provide subsidies.

"We booked a room for one night for Caesar, who has been homeless for some months now" says Manuel Chiquero from the association for the homeless 'Bij Ons'.

"It is a luxury room costing EUR 350 a night. We will send the complete bill to Pascal Smet".
