Government of Flanders donates 300,000 euros to Music for Life
True to tradition, the government of Flanders will donate 300,000 euros to Music for Life this year. As part of this awareness and fundraising initiative of the Flanders Red Cross and radio station Studio Brussels, presenters of the station are locked in a glass house each year. For six days they entertain listeners with non-stop radio, involving their audience in fund-raising initiatives in return for a song on the radio. This year the focus falls on the fight against diarrhoea, which is responsible for the most mortalities among children. The funds raised by the government of Flanders will go to a Red Cross hygiene, water and sanitary project in Malawi, one of the region’s development partners in Africa. This sixth and last edition of Music for Life will run until tomorrow evening. Last year the charity raised a record amount of 5.02 million euros.
