BRUSSELS  - The tourism sector at the Belgian coast did good business during the autumn break. The pleasant weather and several planned events attracted many visitors, especially at the weekend.

The coastal towns were very happy with the turnout during the autumn break. Most hotels had 70-80% occupancy during the week, swelling somewhat at the weekend. The tourism sector at the coast made more of an effort this year to attract visitors. Events were planned and advertised during the week, many of them revolving around the theme of Halloween.

According to Westtour tourism board, theme events are becoming more popular. These events are luring more and more people to the coast, especially young people.
