Germans caught with 30 kg cocaine

14 August 2007, BRUSSELS – Two Germans were arrested at Zaventem airport on Monday evening for transporting no less than 30 kg of cocaine. A third drug courier, also German, managed to escape after the search by authorities and has disappeared. The Brussels public prosecution department reported this on Tuesday.

BRUSSELS – Two Germans were arrested at Zaventem airport on Monday evening for transporting no less than 30 kg of cocaine. A third drug courier, also German, managed to escape after the search by authorities and has disappeared. The Brussels public prosecution department reported this on Tuesday.

The three Germans were carrying the drugs in three suitcases. They arrived at Zaventem from Cana in the Dominican Republic. The authorities could not say if Brussels was their final destination.

The investigation is still ongoing. The two Germans arrested are being held in custody.

The prosecution department says the drugs have a street value of EUR 1.5 million.
