Gang attacks school near Liège

A gang has raided a school in Ans near Liège. Eleven pupils were injured. In all 15 people took part in the attack.

The gang entered the school at one o'clock yesterday.

The gang members headed for the school canteen and smashed up everything.

The school head says two teachers were attacked. Eleven pupils sustained light injuries when the gang started to hurl school furniture at them.

Police were able to detain five gang members, all minors, at the scene.

The school head says the perpetrators were aged between 15 and 30 and were not locals.

The incident may have been triggered by a stabbing at the school yesterday.
