BRUSSELS – The wife of self confessed French serial killer Michel Fourniret has accused her husband of committing eight more murders, it was reported on Wednesday.
Monique Olivier, who like her husband is currently being held in custody in Belgium, says her husband is guilty of eight new murders on top of the eight killings he has already confessed to.
Arnoud d'Aspremont Lynden, the Belgian prosecutor in the Walloon city of Dinant, told French news agency AFP Olivier now claims her husband killed two baby-sitters and six other young girls.
She had earlier said Fourniret murdered three baby sitters.
"She has gone back on her original declaration and says now that two and not three baby sitters were concerned," d'Aspremont Lynden explained.
He added that the statements Olivier had made about the six other alleged new victims were, "relatively vague."
"We are trying to verify them," he explained.
Fourniret has so far denied all of the new allegations against him.
