BRUSSELS — The family of the two-year-old girl killed in the Antwerp racist murders has thanked everyone for showing their sympathies.

The family also asked that they be left in peace to work through their grief.

The request was especially directed at the Belgian media, urging journalists to stay away from the funeral service.

Moreover, the family said it does not want to become involved in the discussions that might be prompted by the murder.

However, the family also urged for people to maintain a dignified attitude, that of solidarity against hate and violence.
