ANTWERP - The Dutch version of the renowned musical Fame premiered last weekend in the city theatre of Antwerp.

Fame is the story of a group of Performing Arts students in New York City. They all dream of a future career as an actor, singer, dancer or musician.

Attaining their dream is not as evident as it might seem. "How do you achieve eternal fame? Through hard work, lots of it," says actress Anne Mie Gils, who plays the role of director of the school.

"There are many things that come into play," she adds, "Luck, meeting the right people at the right time, etc."

Fame is at the Stadsschouwberg (city theatre) of Antwerp until 13 July. After that the musical can be seen in Ghent and Ostend.
