BRUSSELS — The second Welcome Festival for expats will be held in the Flagey Building in the Ixelles/Elsene district of Brussels on Saturday.

The festival is designed to welcome new arrivals to Belgium and introduce various expat community activities.

The event was first held in 2003, when 5,600 people passed through the Palais des Beaux-Arts/Paleis voor Schone Kunsten.

The event will be held from 3-10pm on Saturday in the Flagey Building. Entrance to the building is from the Place Sainte-Croix.

It "constitutes the ultimate meeting point for the international community and Belgium’s cultural scene", organisers say.

This event will feature various musical performances, including Perry Rose, the Bruocsella Symphony Orchestra and the Philip Catherine Quartet.

The festival is being billed as "a meeting of artists taken from both the Brussels scene and Belgium’s international community".

Visitors will be able to meet with representatives of various expat clubs and associations and learn about Brussels' cultural, social and sports activities organised by the local international community.

Admission to the festival is free and for more information, click through to the website www.welcomefestival.be.
