Channel tunnel train operator Eurostar Tuesday laid on buses between Brussels and Lille in northern France since a fatal rail crash in Belgium halted all traffic on the route, a spokeswoman said.

PARIS - "The first thing we recommend passengers to do is postpone their voyage and we will reimburse them," the Eurostar spokeswoman told AFP, but said passengers obliged to travel could get to and from Brussels by the shuttle coach.

Lille is served by Eurostars linking London, Paris and Brussels. Eurostar said trains would run on Tuesday linking both London and Paris with Lille, from where the coach to Brussels takes an hour and a half.

All Eurostar and Thalys high-speed international train services in and out of Brussels were suspended after a head-on collision between two trains Monday left 18 people dead and some 125 injured.
