BRUSSELS — The Belgian winners of the Euro Millions super jackpot reported to the National Lottery on Monday to collect their EUR 75 million in prize money.
The winners have been identified as a Brussels family with three children. They have opted to remain anonymous.
National Lottery representatives in charge of guiding the winners met the family at an undisclosed location on Monday away from the lottery's offices.
Both aged about 45, the father and mother have indicated they want to continue working despite the fact they are now EUR 75,753,123 richer. They said they want keep both feet on the ground.
The family regularly bought tickets for Lotto and Euro Millions and the winning ticket was a Quick Pick valued at EUR 12.
More details about the winners or the address of the shop where the winning ticket was sold have not been released.
It is the first time that a Belgian has exclusively won the Euro Millions super jackpot. It was also the third biggest lottery win ever. The draw took place on Friday night.
A National Lottery official, lawyer and economist are to give special guidance to the winners.
A Belgian won the Euro Millions last October, but had to share the prize money with other winners and went home with 'just' EUR 7.5 million.
