Driver gets five years for causing 4 deaths

The Romanian driver was speeding when his car crashed into a vehicle and killed the company of four.

BELGIUM - Leuven magistrates have imposed a five year prison sentence on the young Romanian driver, who killed four people when he crashed his car into another vehicle in Heverlee.

A woman, her daughter and two young friends were killed in the accident.

The 20-year-old Romanian faced charges of involuntary manslaughter caused on the roads and the use of ecstasy.

The accident happened in March when the driver sped at great speed off a secondary road onto a main road in Heverlee. The Romanian's car crashed into a woman's car.

The driver, her daughter and two friends were killed instantly.

Two months after the accident the woman's husband attempted suicide. He sustained serious injuries and later died.
