BRUSSELS - The provincial authorities of Limburg province are setting up a China desk. The desk will serve as an information point and will provide information about our most easterly province for prospective investors from China.

Limburgers interested in investing in China will also be able to get more information here. Marc Vandeput of the Limburg executive is behind the initiative.

He told the VRT that in the past there have been numerous contacts between Chinese companies and businesses in Limburg province.

The aim is now to strengthen and increase such contacts and examine how the provincial authorities can provide support.

The provincial authorities say that in future Limburg should become a major player in the logistics field.

The authorities have plans to offer logistics businesses more space at industry zones in southern and central Limburg.

By 2015 the logistics sector should provide employment for 30,000 workers across Limburg.
