BRUSSELS – Children in Belgium were given toys worth EUR 190 on average last year. If video games are included in the calculation, the average amount rises to EUR 302.

The figures come from a report from the consumers' organisations. Spending on toys has risen sharply and is considerably higher in Belgium compared to the European average.

At least seven in ten children choose themselves the toys their parents buy for them.
