BRUGES - Canal Plus Flanders, the popular pay TV channel offshoot of France's Canal Plus, owned by Vivendi Universal, has been bought up by telecommunications company Telenet.

The channel is to keep its name but Telenet, a telephone services and Internet provider, plans to introduce interactive programming whereby viewres can choose what they watch from a programme library.

Telenet said it also planned to introduce direct audience participation in certain programmes, via home-based equipment supplied with the channel's signal decoder.
