BRUSSELS – Police in Brussels on Thursday rounded up 108 people suspected of living in Belgium illegally.

The suspected illegal immigrants nearly all came from Romania, police sources said.

Most of them would be expelled from Belgium, the police added.

Brussels police recently launched a similar operation in the Aneesens district of the capital.

On that occasion, they carried out identity checks on 113 people.
