BRUSSELS — Several Brussels hospitals are trying to recruit expat nurses from Romania to solve a personnel shortage.

Romanian nurses generally have a good level of French and are said to be less demanding than Belgian medical staff.

The hospitals have contracted the help of a recruiting agency to employ the Romania nurses.

There is also a recruitment website, at www.nurses.be.

But concerns have been raised by the Dutch-speaking Flemish region, which points to the lack of Dutch language skills of the Romanian nurses.
