BRUSSELS –  Brussels is still one of the top European cities. This emerged on Tuesday from the European Cities Monitor, which is annually drawn up by Cushman & Wakefield, the estate agents. Brussels has improved on its position of last year, and is now sixth.

London continues to be the most attractive city in Europe for businesses, ahead of Paris and Frankfurt. Barcelona is in fourth place and Amsterdam, whose position rose substantially, ranks fifth.

The monitor takes 12 criteria into account. Brussels is third in the ranking of most multi-lingual cities, but scores a lot less on wage costs. The Belgian capital scores average in the area of employees’ quality of life (16th) and the political climate (10th).

The European Cities Monitor is based on a survey of five hundred company directors and managers of the 15,000 largest companies in Europe.
