BRUSSELS — The Brugge skinhead café De Kastelein will re-open on Friday after consultations with the city mayor and police.

However, city authorities will inspect the bar every week and impose a zero tolerance policy against racism, newspaper 'De Morgen' reported on Tuesday.

The café was forced to temporarily close its doors on order from police after a black man from Paris was bashed into a coma on the night of 6 May.

The attack against the man and his Eernegem friend — who had dreadlocks in his hair — was allegedly committed by a group of skinheads who frequented the café.

Police arrested five suspects, three of whom have been remanded in custody. The suspects still being held, however, have downplayed their role in the attack.
