AMSTERDAM –– Between April and June this year, the Flemish business daily De Tijd will be available for reading on a new electronic notebook especially developed by Philips for the newspaper.

The A4-sized gizmo has been given to 200 test subscribers. They will be able to download a customized version of the newspaper from hot spots or an ADSL connection,

In principle this electronic De Tijd can be updated several times a day, but in the first phase of the trial this will not be done, to save editorial and production costs.

After evaluation, the French-language sister newspaper L'Echo de la Bourse may also become available electronically for francophone business readers.
