The Belgian authorities have decided to definitively close the nursery where two babies and a nurse were stabbed to death on Friday.

DENDERMONDE - The local council of Dendermonde said it would be too confrontational for both parents and staff to go to the nursery.

The council will try to find a different use for the building.

On Friday morning, two babies and a nurse where killed when a man burst into the building after ringing the bell.

The suspect, named by prosecutors as Kim D, was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

He is still refusing to make a statement.

When he was arrested, the suspect was carrying a knife, a small axe and a fake pistol.

He was also wearing a bullet-proof vest. Two more knives were found near the nursery.
