British travellers arrested in cannabis haul

Two British travellers have been detained after being caught at Brussels Gare du Midi train station with 27.3 kilos of cannabis. The individuals were arrested by police who became suspicious of their behaviour when they got off a train from Amsterdam. The two suspects said they were on their way to London and had bought the drugs from an unknown Dutchman.

Five suspects in the dock over police murder

Four men and one woman have appeared in court on charges connected with the murder of a policeman in April 2001. Marc Munten, a 41-year-old officer, was shot in the head when he arrived to back up colleagues who had stopped a Mercedes Vito after a car chase just north of Leuven.

Murdered teenager found on street

The body of a murdered 17 year old was found on a street in Marchienne-au-Pont early on Sunday morning. Police found traces of blood leading back to a house on the street where they arrested a suspect in the crime. The murdered teenager is believed to be Khalid Moutaem, although his identity cannot be verified as investigators say he may have been an illegal immigrant.
