The man who stabbed to death two babies and a female carer at a Belgian crèche on Friday has been questioned for ten hours without saying anything.

BRUSSELS - Belgian media earlier reported he had made a full confession.

The two babies were six and nine months old. The dead woman was the head of the nursery.

The 20-year-old man also severely injured ten toddlers and two staff. One of the children is at an intensive care unit.

The assailant was apprehended in a nearby village after a massive manhunt.

The town hall has opened a book of condolence and has organised a silent march on Sunday. People have been gathering at the crèche with flowers, candles and messages.

The mayor has encouraged everyone in the town to join a silent march on Monday.
