25 September 2007, BRUSSELS – Belgian astronaut Frank de Winne has been chosen by the European Space Agency ESA for a six-month mission to the international space station, VRT radio reported on Monday.

BRUSSELS – Belgian astronaut Frank de Winne has been chosen by the European Space Agency ESA for a six-month mission to the international space station, VRT radio reported on Monday.

De Winne will start his space mission at the end of 2009. He will start preparatory training from January 2008.

In 2002 the Flemish astronaut spent a week at the space station.
