The Turkish state broadcaster TRT has rejected a video clip of the Belgian singer Hadise. The singer will represent Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest this year.

Hadise is from Mol in Antwerp province, but is of Turkish extraction

Several newspapers say that TRT is banning the clip because it is "too erotic".

The Turkish broadcaster explains: "The video clip must be perfect.

We had three versions made of the video featuring the song Düm tek tek, the Turkish Eurovision. All employ the same concept, but there are slight differences. One of the clips was rejected."

A TRT spokesman was unwilling to be drawn on whether this decision was linked to Hadise's outfit.

Metin Arola, who directed the clip was prepared to say more: "I'm well known for my love of the erotic. They knew what that they could expect from me.

Everybody knows the way Hadise performs and what she wears."
